Quick Start

Go to the Hire section to scout for operatives and defensive units, and then go to the Black Market to buy drugs and alcohol to make them happy. You can also buy weapons for your defensive units there. Be sure to keep in mind that weapons not only help raise the happiness of your defensive units, but that defensive units without weapons won't do a thing. Defensive units without weapons are extremely vulnerable and you will lose astronomical amounts of them if they are not armed. It's easy to keep operatives and defensive units happy, but if you don't, they will start leaving you. Start by making some money by collecting money from your casinos, brothels, loan shark operations, and gambling dens. When you get enough turns, hire more operatives and defensive units and repeat the process. When you feel strong and rich enough, you can attack other Mafiosos in your range. Be careful! Nobody will let you attack them without seeking revenge. In the Mafia world, an eye costs an eye, an arm, and a leg. Don't forget to protect part of your money in the safe, because you can lose the shirt off your back if somebody mugs you. Be sure to join a family, or start one of your own, since you won't be able to survive by yourself. Finally, enjoy the game as much as you can and watch your back!

Rounds

Each round lasts for 10 or 7 days, in order to make it fair for newcomers. This also gives players more chances to win. Once a round ends, everything starts over from scratch. Mafioso names and family names can be changed. Nothing carries over from one round to the next, which means that any money, guns, operative, defense units, active turns, or reserve turns you have disappear once the round ends. (For more information on types of turns, please refer to the “Turns” section of this guide).

Turns & Reserves

Turns are what you use to do everything on the site. Hiring operatives/defensive units, producing drugs, collecting cash, and attacking all costs turns. For example, to do a drive-by attack on someone, it requires 3 turns. To put money into the bank, it requires 0 turns, and to transfer funds to another Mafioso, it requires 15 turns.

There are 3 categories of turns: Active Turns, Reserve Turns, Credits (Bought and Free):

Active Turns are turns you receive every 10 minutes, the amount of which depends on your subscription level. These turns will continue to build every 10 minutes, until you reach your active turn maximum. It is wise to use active turns, to make sure you continue to get more every 10 minutes.

Reserve Turns, which are located below your active turns, with an option to activate, can be added to your active turns at any point during the round in which they are given. They disappear at the end of the round if they are not used.

Credits (Bought and Free Credits) - are a form of turn which can be purchased for real money, or won as a result of winning a credits prize in the level, killer, family tier. Transferring Credits in a round will increase you level (See "Level & Mobster Status" below). Credits are turns that can be activated and put into reserves during any round, and do not disappear if you do not activate them

You can purchase credits by visiting http://www.mobsterlord.com/credits.php and selecting the credit package you are interested in. You can also view how many Credits you have.

Levels & Mobster Status

Each star represents a level of credits used. If you've used less than 24,999 credits for the round, you are eligible to win prizes in the 1st level and should have one star. Using 25,000 to 99,999 credits, you are eligible for the 2nd level and will have two stars. For the next level, using 100,000 and more you can place in the 3rd level and will be eligible for the Jackpot and level three prizes. Whether you use credits won or purchased, you will still be able to fit in any level. All accounts start fresh every round so if you place in the3rd level in the previous round, you will still be able to go for the 1st level in the next one.

Each player has their player status listed in their profile. There are 2 types of player status: Normal & Supporter.

Supporter: Person who has bought Credits on Mobster Lord in any given round. Supporters have got access to many special features like the spy attack, 1% of interest every day in the normal bank, credit transfer, free name changes, name reserve, turn bonuses etc.

Normal: Person who is a Free Player in a given round. This player has not made a bulk turns purchase and is not a subscriber. This player's status automatically changes if he/she makes a bulk turns purchase, or purchases a Subscription.

Networth

Prizes are given to Mafiosos at the end of each round based on their net worth. Net worth is calculated in the following manner: Whores ($2,500) + Card dealers ($2,000) + Bootleggers ($1,500) + Hustlers ($1,000) + Punks ($500) + Hitmen ($1,000) + Thugs ($500) + Bodyguards ($500) + cash + bank + + Swiss bank + 90% value of all Weapons + 90% value of Cars + 90% value of Planes + 10%-50% value of drugs.

Families

Mobsterlord simulates the mafia underworld, and gives you the option to join a crime family, which is basically a group of people with similar interests, beliefs, or goals. A family brings you protection, along with the respect of other Mafiosos. However, as we all know, respect is earned, not given, so it is up to you to work closely with the rest of your family members in order to succeed in this game. The trust and respect you have for your family members and allies can save your life, but it can also be your downfall. Remember that this is the mafia world and that no matter who tucks you into bed at night, it is best to sleep with one eye open. Families currently have a size limit of 25 Mafiosos per family, so be sure to choose the people you work with wisely.

Family Networth

Prizes are awarded to members of each family when the family ranks in the top ten (10) at the end of a round. These credits may be used at anytime in any round. You don’t have to use them all at once, either.

Family ranks

MobsterLord is a simulation of the mafia underworld. Just like the real mafia, you can join families - a group of people who believe in the same thing, have the same ideas or just trust each other. A family brings protection, it brings respect from other members and it gives you trust in other members. Trust and respect can save your life, but it can also get you killed. Families have a size limit of 25 Mafiosos / family. You can also request invites if the family is accepting them. You can do it in the family page.

Hire

One of the main goals of any Mafioso is to be able to build a successful, profitable empire and keep out of prison. The best way to keep out of prison is to pay other people to do your dirty work. In order to have a balanced empire, you will need various types of personnel. In order to find crew members go to the “hire” section, select the type of units you are looking for, and type in the amount of turns you wish to use in order to find them.

Operatives

Operatives are the kind of units that would work in your businesses and produce different kind of goods. The operatives that could be part of your crew are:
Card dealers - work in your casinos and will determine how much cash your tables will roll out.
Whores - work in your brothel and will determine how much cash people will pay for them.
Bootleggers - work in your speakeasy and will determine how much liquor your speakeasy will make.
Hustlers - work in your loan shark and will help to push people to collect loan payments.
Punks - work in your gambling den and will help to push people to bet.

The more of each type of operative you have, the more money they are able to collect for you.

Defensive Units

Defensive units are units that would protect you and your operatives, and would attack other Mafiosos. The defensive units that could be part of your crew are:
Hitmen - strengths are their intelligence at the time of performing an order and their good weapons skills. They would kill and protect you.
Thugs - are not as intelligent and well mannered as hitmen. They are less useful when attackin and more efficent when defending.
Bodyguards - are really easy to get and will protect you well. They are less useful when attackin and more efficent when defending.

Happiness

The happiness level of your crew is one of the most important things to keep track of. If your operatives or defensive units become unhappy, they will start leaving you when you ask them to operate. To keep your operatives happy, they need to be supplied with alcohol, medicine, weed, and cocaine. You only start to lose operatives when their happiness is below 80%. Their happiness also depends on there being defensive units to protect them. Your defensive units need alcohol, weed, and cocaine to be happy. They also insist on having either 4 glocks or 1 AK47 per unit to be happy, or a combination of all guns. Every time your units are called into action, they consume a certain amount of drugs/alcohol. This is why it is important to make sure you have ample amounts of drugs/alcohol before you attack, or collect. It is up to you to figure out how to keep them happy.

Black Market

In the black market you are able to get whatever you need for you guys. Your able to buy narcotics, weapons, cars and planes. You could sell cars and planes for 90% of their price. You could also sell drugs at wholesale price Narcotics are mainly used to make your guys happy. Your defensive units need alcohol and weed to be happy. Your operatives need liquor and coke to be happy too. Try to get a big stock of them. Weapons are used for attacks and are important for you guys happiness. You could get Glocks, shotguns, Uzis and ak47. The more expensive the weapon, the more the kills it makes. Cars are used to do a drive-by or to steal other Mafioso’s cars. The Sedan takes 5 persons and the Van takes 10 persons. Planes are used to travel to other cities to attack other Mafiosos. When you get your private jet you don't need to pay for plane tickets. You should keep in mind that your members that don't travel with you are lost. The Lear Jet can take up to 40 guys and the Boeing 747 can take up 300 people…

Produce

Productions are part of your illegal activities. So you could use turns to produce coke, weed, alcohol and fake cash. Your thugs are used to produce coke and weed in you drug lab your bootleggers are used to produce alcohol in your speakeasy your punks are used to create fake money

Collect

You could use some turns to collect some money from your businesses. You own casinos, brothels, loan sharks and gambling dens. Your Card dealers are used to run your casino tables your whores are used to work in your brothels your hustlers are used to collect loan payments in your loan sharks your punks are also used to run your gambling dens

Turnbank

You can store active turns in the turn bank for later use. Turn bank turns do not carry over between rounds.

Hitman

The hitman is for taking out someone anonymously. It can only be used on free players. You will becharged the free from your reserve turns. After the deal has been mate the hitman will send you a message instantly containing the logs of the hit. Hitman only takes out defensives.

Cash and the bank

Just like the real world, you have a bank account and a pocket. The money you use anywhere is the cash you got on you. However, keeping money in your pocket is risky. Another Mafioso can mug you and take whatever you have there. So, depositing a part of it in the bank is a good idea. You are able to put 20% of your money which is free. Later, if you want to add more money in safe box, you would have to withdraw all the money and put 20% of all the cash you got. You can withdraw it when you need it at anytime for free. From your cash you can also transfer money to another Mafioso. This can be useful if you need to pay them for something, bribe them, or just give a cut of your organized crime.
Whenin depositing money, sending money to other mobsters or withdrawing you can use symbols like $, spaces and commas. The system will automatically filter them out.
If you need to send money quickly you can type character "K" instead of three 0's. For example to send 1 million to other mobster you would have to type 1kk.

Swiss bank

Swiss bank AKA high-interest bank. It will bring you 3% of deposited money every 24 hours. Be warned, it CAN be attacked if you don't have at least 10,000 defensives for each billion in the bank protecting it.

Family bank

Family bank works like Swiss bank except it will not bring your family any interest. Your family needs to have at least 10,000 defensives for each billion. If you have 2 members, both of them need to have 10,000 to protect one billion. Otherwise the bank can be attacked. You can attack family banks by pressing on "Attack bank" link on family page.

Attacking

There are 10 different types of attacks. To attack a player, go to the attack or go to find the Mafioso you want to attack and click on his name. When you are viewing his profile, click on attack!!! If you see Out of Range, you may not attack this Mafioso. Free players can only attack players with 1/2 or up to 3 times their networth. Supporters can only attack players with 1/2.5 or up to 4 times their net worth.

The requirements for each attack are explained below:

Attack on Headquarters – invade the Mafioso’s headquarters, and kill their defensive units. If you win the attack, you also steal part of the money the Mafioso has on hand. You must have at least ONE defensive unit to perform this attack. The defender must have a minimum of $1 on hand for this attack to show up as available if you meet the requirements to perform this attack.

The defender must have at least ONE defensive unit or at least one operative for the attack to show up as available if you meet the requirements to perform this attack.

You can attack with as many defensive units as can fit into your cars (Each Sedan can hold 5 defensive units and each Van can hold 10 defensive units). If you perform this attack and you lose, you can say goodbye to the cars that your dead mafiosos arrived on the scene in. The defender of the attack gets them. The defender must not have any defensive units left and must have a minimum of one unit of either alcohol, weed, or coke in his drug labs for the attack to show up as available if you meet the requirements to perform this attack.

Armory Attack – used to steal a portion of your opponent’s guns. You must have at least ONE defensive unit to perform this attack. The defender must not have any defensive units left and must have a minimum of one of any gun in his armory for the attack to show up as available if you meet the requirements to perform this attack.

Filching cars – used in order to steal someone’s cars. You will need to make sure you have enough cars to hold your defensive units, and that all of your enemy’s defensive units are dead in order to perform this attack successfully The more defensive units and cars you have in your garages, the more you’ll be able to jack! You need a minimum of ONE car in your garages and a minimum of 1 defensive units on hand. The defender must not have any defensive units left and must have a minimum of one of either car in his garages for the attack to show up as available if you meet the requirements to perform this attack.

Stealing planes – used in order to steal someone’s planes. You will need to make sure you have enough planes to hold your defensive units, and that all of your enemy’s defensive units are dead in order to perform this attack successfully. The more defensive units and planes you have in your hangars, the more you’ll be able to steal! You need a minimum of ONE plane in your hangars and a minimum of 1 defensive units on hand. The defender must not have any defensive units left and must have a minimum of one of either plane in his hangars for the attack to show up as available if you meet the requirements to perform this attack.

Swiss bank attack - This attack can only be done if the enemy has his swigs bank unprotected. You need a minimum of ONE defensive on hand. The defender must have at least ONE dollar deposited in his Swiss bank. To perform this attack the defender must have his Swiss bank unprotected AKA not have 10,000 men per billion deposited.

Spyings – used in order to see other Mafioso's private stuff. Only supporters can perform this attack and it costs 150 turns per attack. The spy attack is NOT logged and will only be viewable on the attack page. You can see the following information:

- Mafioso's weapons
- Cash on hand
- Mafioso's defensive units
- Mafioso's cars & planes
- Mafioso's defensive and operative units current happiness levels

During an attack, your best defensive units are automatically armed with your best weapons, to make your attacks as efficient as possible

Here is how the kills are counted:

DUs with AK47s - 100%

DUs with Uzis - 75%

DUs with Shotguns - 50%

DUs with Glocks - 25%

Examples:

1. Player 1 attacks Player 2 that has 100,000 DUs and 100,000 AK47s, and kills 10,000 DUs.

Kills registered for player 1: 10,000.

2. Player 1 attacks Player 2 that has 100,000 DUs and 50,000 AK47s, and kills 10,000 DUs

Kills registered for player 1: 5,000.

3. Player 1 attacks Player 2 that has 100,000 DUs and 50,000 Glocks, and kills 10,000 DUs.

Kills registered for player 1: 1,250

Revenge

The revenge option gives you the chance to hit someone back that attacks you. Whenever someone attacks you, you are given a revenge on them for 24 hours after the last attack occurs. For 24 hours, you will be able to hit the player that hit you, even if they are not in your range. You can check your revenges by going to your mail box and clicking on the “revenges” menu. If someone attacks you, you have revenge on them, but beware: if you attack them back, they will have revenge on you too.

Range

Supporters may attack a Mafioso if his/her net worth falls between 1/2 and 4 times your net worth.Normal players may attack a Mafioso if his/her net worth falls between 1/2,5 and 3 times your net worth(In order to check your net worth, just go to the main menu or your profile). If you go to a person’s profile and you see the option to “attack,” it means they are in your range. If you see “out of range” instead of “attack,” it means that in order to hit them, you must either gain or lose net worth.

Domination

Families can dominate the cities and have 5% of extra attack and defense power in that specific city. The networth and total Defensive Units (DUs) of the families are the most important factors that help them dominate the cities. ONLY the city where the family Boss is currently located can be dominated. The members of the family must be in the same city to help the family dominate it.

Maxing

There is a limit to the amount of times you can be attacked. The first time you are attacked, you can be hit 24 times. After that, one hit opens each hour you are not hit, until a maximum of 24 open hits is reached. If a person has no open hits, they are “maxed” until the next top of the hour (sometimes referred to as “TOH”). If you are attacked and you win the attacks, the attacks do not count towards your maxing count. Revenge attacks DO NOT COUNT towards "ATTACKS IN" either. If you are hit simultaneously (at the same exact moment) by different players, it counts as the amount of times you were hit and **may** exceed the 24 attack limit. Prior to the top of the next hour, your "ATTACKS IN" will reset to 23, which opens up an attack at the top of the hour. SIMULTANEOUS attacks are very rare, but they do occur, especially if someone is targeted by multiple players.

Travel

Traveling is used for a few purposes, namely running away from someone that is trying to kill you, or traveling to find someone to kill. Most families will choose a particular city as their home base, which has pros and cons. One pro is that you will have your family’s protection while you are in your home city, although a con is that, during a war, you make it easier for your enemies to find you. You need enough planes on hand to travel freely or enough money on hand to handle travel expenses. Those costs may vary from time to time and are posted in the game.

Wanted list

If you want to make some money attacking or want someone taken out and you can't or don't want to do it yourself, the wanted list is the way to go!

On the “All Contracts” page, you can see all the active contracts made by everybody. The contracts that you have filled have a cancel option next to them to help identify them and so you can cancel contracts from either the “All Contracts” page or the “My Contracts” page. The "Networth" column shows the, uh, networth. The "Max Kills" column shows how many defensive units the contractor can afford to pay to be hit. This is not the total amount of defensive units that the target player has. Click the player name to view that player's profile, then decide if you can attack or not. The "Price per DU"column shows how much money the contractor is paying for each defensive unit killed. And the "Potential money" is how much you could make if you were to kill all the units that the contractor can afford to pay for. When a contract is put onto a player, a message is sent to notify the player that they have been added to the wanted list. By attacking a player in the hit list you will see a message on the attack screen, showing you how much did you get for killing him/her. The message will will be logged in your attack and contract logs.

When a players profile is viewed that is on the wanted list, the words "Contract Available" are shown near the top of their profile. Contracts don’t have to be accepted, it is all automatic. When you attack a player who is on the wanted list, the money is automatically transferred into your hands. The money is transferred for however many defensive units are killed whether the result is a win or lose, just as long as the target players defensive units are killed.
